Meet the Creator

Hi, I'm Maddy – the creator of Mr. Detective and Friends. I’ve worked in the human services sector for over 13 years, including 7 years in private practice as a social worker. Mr Detective and Friends was created out of a need to teach children about the fight, flight, and freeze response in a way that made sense to them—and to show them the power of self-talk as a regulation tool. These concepts can be complex, but I saw how valuable they were in helping children understand their bodies and emotions. That’s why I created Mr Detective and Friends—to make emotional education engaging, simple, and effective. The results with children have been incredible, and I knew it was something worth sharing. Join me on this journey to empower both children and adults with vital emotional intelligence skills. Together, let’s build a calmer, more connected community.
